I could not recommend this article enough as it highlights the concerning domino effect of a city launching a "greening" project to promote sustainability in that city and as a result, property values of the surrounding areas skyrocket and move those in the most need for greening attempts out of those areas. This process known as eco-gentrification is becoming an increasing problem throughout the country and the article claims that its solution is rent capping legislation, to hopefully slow down expansion and let the amenities catch up.
